Offering services for Police Officers, Firefighters, Paramedics and Veterans.
Jodi is a clinical psychologist with a special interest and training in supporting first responders / emergency service workers.
"Over the years my experience in treating adults impacted by trauma has lead me to refine my skill set and develop a special interest in working with first responders and emergency service workers. I am familiar with WorkCover and return to work services. I follow the Expert Guidelines: Diagnosis and treatment of post - traumatic stress disorder in emergency service workers, produced by the Black Dog Institute, and will work collaboratively with your treating teams including psychiatrist, GP, case manager and recovery partners.
NSW Police officers may access services under the Police NSW “Early Access Treatment Initiative (EATI)”
https://www.police.nsw.gov.au/about_us/wellbeing_support_services - EATI reimburses out-of-pocket expenses for psychological support received from an eligible allied mental health service provider under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. It is a confidential program, independent to Workers Compensation, available to all NSWPF employees.
Fire and Rescue NSW employees may also be eligible for reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses for psychological support under a Mental Health Treatment plan.
In addition to my private practice work, I consult for the NSW Fire and Rescue Service, serve as a guest lecturer at Southern Cross University, and have a background in working with non-profit organizations. I completed my early training with QLD Health at The Prince Charles Hospital and the Brighton Brain Injury Service (previously Jacana).
My training to provide EMDR therapy was completed via the EMDR Institute Australia and New Zealand Inc, and I am currently an associate member of EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA)".
Outside of work Jodi is either practicing ballet, barracking for the St George dragons or enjoying a coffee in the sun somewhere, contemplating where the dragons have gone wrong since the glory days of the 1960's.
